Introducing Translation Delivery Network

The last 3 months I was working to build a Translation Delivery Network which is a cloud network which can deliver translations for websites. Finally GTranslate Enterprise was released last week as a next generation cloud translation service.

With GTranslate Enterprise you can make your website multilingual without installing any software on your server! You can have a translated version of your site available at es.domain.com (Spanish) or even better host it on a top level country domain name (ccTLD) like domain.es to get more exposure on google.es.

You can check the video tour below:

My first startup - GTranslate

Website Translator Finally I've managed to move my GTranslate - Website Translator from my personal website to a new website dedicated to it. Now all can find info about it easily and learn what it can do by watching the GTranslate Tour Video. Hopefully it will attract more people and big companies to start using it and invest money into it. I feel that it is going to become more popular with the help of the new site and will spread even wider with the support from the GTranslate users.

I hope for the best.

P.S. If you are searching for alternative(s) to smartling or alternative(s) to dakwak GTranslate is your choice!

Dreams come true...

I participated in GSoC2009 and I'm very happy. I'll be working on a project called Working Copy during this summer with my mentor Allan Walker from Great Britain and co-mentor Samuel Moffatt from Australia. The official coding will end on August 25. I hope that I'll have a great time during this summer and also learn something new and useful. The Google experience will help me to get a scholarship for my future education.

Summary for first year in web, what's next?

Today is the day, when one year ago I started creating my personal website for participating in GSoC 2008. I didn't participate, but I want to summarize some results, which I didn't expect to say the truth :)

  • ~200.000 visits
  • ~10.000 registered users
  • $100 AdSense revenue :)

JED Extensions and partners:
  • 2 wonderful partners Martin Hajek (Czech Republic) and David Thomas (New Zealand)
  • 8 extensions
  • 2 extensions in top rated 100 (Jumi, GTranslate)
  • 1 extension in most favoured 20 and most rated 50 (Jumi)
  • GTranslate is on the first place in his category (automatic translations)
  • Jumi is on the first position in his category (custom content)

What I expect this year:
  • Participate in GSoC 2009, will propose ideas only for Joomla! Project
  • Bachelors degree in physics, preparing for masters degree in computer science
  • Will keep working on Jumi, new fetures, snippets, tips and tricks, hope it will be selected as a JED Editor's pick
  • Will join with JosLang, already have spoken with David Thomas and he is agree
  • Have you heard about Google App Engine based on Python? This year I'll try my Python skills and move my website to App Engine base, already have working core for my site, need to convert the php code :)
  • End of crisis in the world

Misterious things in JED

Approximately 2 months ago Martin wrote this blog post: How to become a successful developer in less than 5 minutes. Just read it and you will understand what is going on in our beautiful planet Earth. I ask you to leave your comments on JED and here. Just tell me your opinion.
